About California High-Speed Rail

California's ambitious high-speed rail project aims to connect Los Angeles and San Francisco with trains capable of speeds up to 220 mph (354 km/h). Phase 1 will run from San Francisco to Los Angeles/Anaheim. Despite significant planning and construction efforts, the project has faced numerous delays and budget challenges. The Central Valley segment is currently under active construction, while the Caltrain corridor (San Francisco to San Jose) has been electrified in preparation for future HSR service.
